Paul Whitfield OBE has an extensive 40-year career background, predominantly in high profile leadership roles across the public sector including the Armed Forces, Prison Services and the Civil Service.
In 2006, Paul returned to his place of birth, Guernsey, to assist in developing their Prison Service, followed by an appointment to lead the island’s Home Department. Following the success of his leadership of the Home Department, Paul was promoted to the position of Chief Executive and Head of the Civil Service in Guernsey. In this position, he led transformation including the outsourcing of IT and technology infrastructure into a private sector strategic partnership and strengthened governance processes and the working relationships between executive and non-executive structures.
Paul enjoys outdoor activities which include boating, skiing, walking, and cycling - as well as family time. He also coached the youth teams for the Guernsey Rugby Academy as a way of contributing to the sport he loves and giving back something to the island community.
